I finally convinced Colby to take some family pictures! Maybe next time I can find someone to take them for us since the tripod isnt great at getting Tatums attention!

1st Christmas
We celebrated Christmas at our house this year! My family drove down from Vegas to spend it with us. Even though they were only here for 2 days we had lots of fun! The highlights were: going to the Mesa Temple Christmas lights, opening a pair of Christmas PJ's and reading the Grinch on Christmas eve, and of course, celebrating Christmas!

5 months old!
Tatum turned 5 months old the day we returned from North Carolina! We had a photo session to celebrate, of course!
Tatum learned:
How to roll back to belly (11/14)
How to sit up unassisted (12/19)
He decided that he hated solids and would puke with just a taste of anything. This was so frustrating for me. I wanted him to eat, but he was just not having it.
With the new found skill of rolling and sitting up, came a new struggle with sleeping. He would roll to his belly and wake up angry. Then once he learned how to sit up, he would get so excited and sit up in his crib and cry while he was supposed to be sleeping. He finally figured out he liked sleeping on his belly and sitting up became not as exciting.
He is such a joy and the happiest baby around!

North Carolina
In December, we went to North Carolina to visit Colbys family for Christmas! It was Tatums first airplane ride and even though I was stressed about it, he did great!
It was so wonderful seeing family and introducing Tatum to everyone! We even got to meet the newest (at least the newest in December) cousin, Logan! He made Tatum look like a monster sized baby!
During our trip we drove down to the coast to check out Grandma & Grandpa Howards property and house. Tatum was able to meet his Great Grandma Howard and see the Atlantic ocean! He also got to "open" his first presents! This made him a pro-present opener for the rest of his presents!

It was so nice being able to visit all of the Howard family! We definitely miss them and cant wait to visit them again soon!

Desert Botanical Gardens
A couple weekends a go, Colby and I were trying to decide what we wanted to do... The library has a culture pass program where you can get free entrance to places around town like the zoo, museums, etc. We decided we wanted to go to the zoo, but the passes go quick so I headed to the library so I could be there when it opened..or so I thought.. I misread the website, and it opened up 2 hours early on Fridays..Big Fail..
So I got a pass to the Desert Botanical Gardens instead. We had a great time and saw every cactus known to man...welcome to the desert! We took pictures the first half, but then my camera battery died...so there was my Second Fail!
Im just glad that it has cooled down enough that we can enjoy doing outside things again!
Sweet Potatoes
Tatum got his first "solid" food on 11-13. I decided to make my own baby foods, so I baked and pureed the sweet potatoes (since I had them on hand) the night before. Its crazy how much 1.5 sweet potatoes can make when pureed!
Here is the result of his first "eating" sessions!

4 months old
Another month has flown by! Tatum continues to grow and learn new things constantly! It is so amazing watching him discover the world and how to do things!
Tatum is 16lbs 4oz; 26.25 inches long and has a 17" noggin. No wonder my back always hurts now!
Can roll over back to belly and occasionally has rolled belly to back, but forgets he can. This is especially fun when he rolls onto his belly in the middle of the night and wakes himself up!
Has discovered his feet! He didnt want to let them go today!
Loves to chat! He talks to us and his toys and his blankets all the time!
Loves his jumperoo! He goes crazy in that thing!
Loves water! Baths and swim class are his favorites!
Started solids. So far, he has had sweet potatoes and bananas and loved the bananas, not so sure about the sweet potatoes.
Loves the camera, he is such a ham!
