1 down, 1 to go!

Colby finished the tiling our guest bath when we got home from Indiana. It looks amazing! Now when we get back from Vegas he gets to do the master bath! :)

Uh OH

This happened last night!

We are tiling our bathrooms while Colby is on Christmas break! He is so talented!
We had the best experience we have ever had at home depot, usually they are not that helpful but they were last night! We were able to get everything we need for both bathrooms for a lot less than I was expecting! Thanks Colby for always making our home look Grand!!!

Pure Deliciousness!

I tried a new recipe for the Howard Thanksgiving Brunch (this should be a new tradition guys, breakfast is the best!) and it was a hit!

So here is the recipe: (recipe and picture out of Southern Living Magazine, Nov 2009 ed.)

Blackberry Overnight French Toast

Hands-on time: 21 min.; Total time: 8 hr., 51 min.
Yield: Makes 8 to 10 servings

Ingredients
1 cup blackberry jam
1 (12-oz.) French bread loaf, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1 (8-oz.) package 1/3-less-fat cream cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
4 large eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Toppings: maple syrup, whipped cream

Preparation
1. Cook jam in a small saucepan over medium heat 1 to 2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring once.
2. Place half of bread cubes in bottom of a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Top with cream cheese cubes, and drizzle with melted jam. Top with remaining bread cubes.
3. Whisk together eggs and next 3 ingredients. Pour over bread mixture. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Cover tightly, and chill 8 to 24 hours.
4. Preheat oven to 325°. Bake, covered, 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until bread is golden brown and mixture is set. Serve with desired toppings.

I served mine with homeade whipped topping, next time I am definitely going to try it with syrup too!!

Enjoy!

Central Carolina Fair

Colby and I went to the fair on Saturday with Claire and Tyler. It was fun but wasnt like the Clark County Fairs I remember... not to mention we were all to cheap to pay $6-7 to ride on a ride that looked like it could fall over at any moment!!
We did meet a cool camel and watch some pig races though!!

Colby said i looked liked this bunny....

Then he tried to sneak a kiss...

Check out this pic

I was going through my wedding pictures to make an album and found this....

I have the best sister-in laws! Courtney you were missed!!

Kazzi Bear

Kazzi has been a great addition to our family. He isn't doing as well with his training as Krone did, but not many dogs can compare! He is cute as can be and looks like a little teddy bear. He is tipping the scale somewhere between 3-4lbs depending on how much he eats and drinks!

and of course.... Krone ( who really needs a hair-do)

We love our fuzzy boys!

1sT Anniversary!!

I can't believe it has already been a year since we got married! Time has just flown by!
Colby is such a wonderful husband and I fall more in love with him everyday!
For our anniversary, Colby surprised me and we went and stayed at Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks! He even called my boss and arranged with her for me to have Friday off without me knowing! :)
We stayed at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast, spent time at the beach, and walked around the small island village!
It was a long drive (6 hrs) especially for such a quick trip but it was well worth it!!
(Now for the Picture Overload)

Getting ready to get back on the ferry!

Us at the Hatteras Lighthouse!
This graveyard was behind our B&B!

Colby's little friend.
The debatable, but DELICIOUS Cranberries in the yard!

It was interesting sleeping in a full size bed after being in a King.

jason's restaurant was pretty delicious!
This spider was huge!
One of the Ocracoke Ponies, they have most of them in captivity to keep them safe.. we didnt see any wild ones.

Brookes Birthday

We had a little get together on Brookes birthday. I made chicken parmesan and Kent made a birthda cake. We hung out and played a couple games of spoons! It was a lot of fun! It was nice to have Brooke and Kent around this summer so we could get to know them better! The Coltons, Callie, and Bella joined in on the fun too!

cousins in the tub

We were over at Brittany and Cades the other day and took Krone with us (Kazzi stayed at home because he cannot control his bladder at all yet.) The kids had all gotten dirty and went to go take a bath. Krone got in too and the kids washed him and poured water on him! He didnt seem to mind too much!

New Addition

Yesterday we welcomed Kazzi to our family! He is an 8 week old yorkie (same as Krone), is super tiny, full of personality, and we love him already! Krone is already loving his little brother and is trying to show him the ways of being a perfect dog!

Las Vegas/Utah Trip

I was able to go out to visit my family for the 4th of July and I had so much fun! We did a TON of shopping and visiting! On Friday,we went up to St George to go to the Shade store where EVERYTHING was 50% off (including bathing suits! I got 2! Thanks Mama for everything!) Then we headed up to Brianhead to a family friends cabin and hung out! It was absolutely gorgeous up there! I didnt take as many pictures as I wanted but here are a few! I know I havent updated in FOREVER and I still have our Washington DC trip pics to post plus some others, so maybe I will do that soon!

The Joyner!

The dream cabin, this is obviously through the window but we did get to take a tour of this beautiful cabin! If only I had $800K.....

The view at Cedar Breaks in Dixie National Forest!

My family before I left outside of the cabin we stayed in.

Me in front of Cedar Breaks!

The McCourts minus Adam who was recouperating from sliding his motorcycle into rocks, Annette and Robbie Hardy (and the 5 dogs only Samson and Lulu are in the picture though) who were kind enough to let us stay with them at there cabin!
Another beautiful view!

It was such an awesome trip, I wish Colby would have been able to come with me! I sure missed him and the Kroners and was glad to see them when I got back home!
