Whoa!

Today I looked at the calendar and realized...
One month from now, I will already be married (for 1 day).
One word, Surreal.
I kind of feel like I did when I was moving out here!
I kind of knew what I was doing, but not really...
I didnt really know what I was getting into, but it
has been even better than I could have ever expected it to be.
I have survived and learned so much just from having
to be a responsible adult.
I feel overwhelming feelings of excitement, nervousness, happiness, etc.
I cant wait!

Introducing KRONE with a K

Well after Colby I went hiking on the 4th, we went and picked up a new little puppy!
His name is Krone (with a K) but if you ask Colby its with a Crone (with a C)... Its one of those things we are trying to agree on. (Crone -means old hag; Krone- means Crown)
Anyways... I know its kind of a weird name. There is a story behind it though.
I came up with a list of names one of the names on the was Krone the Warrior King. I was thinking of the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and that pitiful Chinese Crested whose name I thought was Krone as well. Colby agreed with me, he said that was the name. We laughed about it. thought that name would be funny and different! Well... funny, it became even more! We were later informed by Christal and Cade that it wasnt Krone, but Kroll...
We could have changed it, but Krone already knew his name! So we decided to stick with it!
He is so much fun and his training is going very well 90% of the time!
We love him and he is so much fun to watch and play with!

Fourth of July Adventure

Colby and I decided to go hiking for the fourth of July up at Hanging Rock. Usually when we go, we climb the easy trails. This time, we decided to climb the medium trail...
It wasnt too hard! Although I had to explore the wilderness in order to relieve myself because the park rangers wouldn't let me in the bathroom... and having to take a breather every 10 minutes (I know there are no excuses, but the humidity makes it hard to breathe)(Colby didn't enjoy that part)... we made it to the top and back down..(obviously! )
There was another couple that we hiked with almost the whole time. So we "raced" to the top! That added to the fun! Colby and I won, of course!
Once we got to the top we got to see the beautiful smoky mountains! I cant wait for the fall so that we can go and take some even more amazing pictures!

coming... eventually...

Pictures of KRONE (our new puppy) and our Fourth of July hiking adventure...
Eventually meaning getting my camera from Colby's gym bag that I have never seen before.....

change of scenery...

Well, I really, really want to change my room.. Especially before the wedding and Colby moves in. So That way it looks like a NICE room and not in Brittany's words "a college dorm". It would be one boring looking college dorm room!! Anyways, Brittany and I have decided to make a headboard (I have always wanted to do this) So, in efforts to HOPEFULLY do something different I created what I Want my room to look like. I created it in Paint, so its not perfect but it atleast gives me an idea and something to work towards. If you look closely I drew a stick figure in one of the picture frames!!

Things about the South

Last friday, I went to watch Colby play softball. It was fun, Christal and I sat and cheered on Colby and Chris, and they won!
Im sure our cheering was what caused that! :)
That wasnt the exciting part for me...
The exciting part for me was when we got back to Chris and Christal's, it was about 845 and the sun was almost down. Then I saw them!
FIREFLIES!
I love fireflies! My eyes lit up and I immediately began to try and catch some... (note tried)
I remember being out in Arkansas when I was little we would go to my cousin's house and we would run around trying to capture them!
If you have never experienced this bug phenomenon then I highly suggest this southern treat!

This is the best picture I found of them. They are Pretty neat!

Lighting bugs are probably my favorite type of bug (to go a long with caterpillars turn butterflies and rolly pollies) All others, I despise.

NOTE: There are A LOT of others around here.
Especially the ones that attacked my legs while picking raspberries the other night.
How rude of them to make my legs itch like crazy and make me unable to wear anything other than pants in the high 90 degree weather we are having!
We think they were chiggars? (Where they came up with that name anyways..) For years, I thought they were an imaginary bug people talked about that went along with ticks. Just so they could say, "Watch out for all the ticks and chiggars!"

NOTE (also): I would MUCH rather be bitten by chiggars than ticks...
The worst part of the leg bites, Colby (who wore basketball shorts while picking raspberries) did not get ONE bite! I on the other hand who had rolled up my pants to a long time of capri, am covered.... A little unfair I think!

Those are some things about the South. Things I never saw in Vegas, bugs hardly exist out there before they are fried by the heat. Things that make it more interesting to live out here. Oh, the things I do for love... :0D
